West Bromwich based forging and machining specialist Brockhouse Group today announced it has awarded four Brockhouse Scholarships to students within the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Birmingham. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the scholarship.
The award of up to £1,500 per year, per student repeats for each year of study and is aimed at developing engineering excellence.
Brockhouse started life in West Bromwich back in 1885. At its peak it employed 10000 employees and had subsidiaries worldwide. The Brockhouse Scholarship fund was originally instated by the Brockhouse family in 1943 to encourage family members of Brockhouse employees to attend university. Since then the fund has evolved to be open to all University of Birmingham engineering students.
Brockhouse is proud to still be contributing to the development of engineers of the future.
